    Hôtel Americano: Stylish. Simple.

This place is just uber hip, hands down. Which you’d probably expect from a cool, new NYC hotel that’s nestled in the bustling art scene of Chelsea. What stands out to me, is that it’s an awesome example of our Choice Choke™ wave. “Hôtel Americano keeps life’s choices simple. Three room types offered, all with [...]

When Good Things Come In Small Packages

I saw two interesting articles that were about achieving the same goal:  To downsize using space saving techniques in order to simplify a dwelling.  Yeah, pretty much the opposite of “MTV Cribs”.  These are really smart, effective design examples that remind us that big isn’t always better… and it’s usually way more than what we [...]

    Smart Water Delivers: Dumb

Ugh.  I almost didn’t want to write about this because I didn’t want to “spread” it, but I think it’s important to call it out as: FAIL. Basically, smart water has attempted a viral campaign starring Jennifer Aniston that pretty much mocks web culture.  That’s like starting a grassroots campaign in France to abolish the [...]

What’s a “friend” and where is “home”?

Does friendship require proximity? Can you have a best friend whom you’ve never laid eyes on? Even a decade ago, these two questions would seem much less feasible than today,

    An Adult Sandbox

Here is one for everyone who ever pushed around a dump truck or road grader in his or her sandbox as a kid and dreamed about growing up to drive the real thing. Now you can. That’s right, there’s a new adult theme park planning to open near Las Vegas where you can drive bulldozers, backhoes, and dump trucks.

    “Help me, Death Bear!”

    “Help me, Death Bear!”

Death Bear can help you. If you live in New York City and are feeling depressed over a breakup and can’t “bear” to get rid of all that memorabilia from your ex-boyfriend or ex-girlfriend, just call Death Bear. He’ll arrive at your home in costume, accept all your love trash—like letters, photos, gifts, underwear, or whatever—and he’ll get rid of it.

You thought you were pretty proud of those pounds you’d lost, and then, just when you didn’t expect it, there it was—a Bob Evans sausage gravy dispenser right there next to some Bob Evens biscuits.

    Google-Branded Snail Mail

Here’s an idea that, while you can’t do it now, seems inevitable. The technology would allow you to go to your Gmail, type in your address plus a destination address, click a button, and envelopes would print out with the Google route right on the front.

    Leafy Looking Electricity

Big solar panels can be so, well…let’s just say it, ugly. The Solar Ivy “leaves” you see in the below photo, by comparison, are more beautiful and a much more pleasing fit with the environment. They’re also cheaper to produce than the huge flat, colorless panels, cheaper to replace, and have the same kind of potential to cut down your cost of electricity.

Is 80 the new 70? Seventy the new 60? One of the stars of “Sunset Daze,” Gail Leibowitz, believes it, and proves it, in a new cable reality show described as Viagra fueled and a geriatric version of “Jersey Shore.”
