The Complete National Geographic

If there’s something that I’ve always loved and can remember doing often as a kid, it’s flipping through National Geographic magazines at my house. We had shelves upon shelves of the familiar yellow clad books sitting around. Probably twenty or so years worth. Well, now, thanks to technology and our ever-growing desire to be completion crazy you can get the entire series of Nat Geo on an external hard drive.

What I find really interesting is we seem to be edging closer and closer to everything in digital formats. I myself still find digital copies of films to be bizarre, because I like having them all lined up on the shelves at home. But as our virtual world merges more and more with our physical, we’re going to keep seeing these things happen. People are slowly surrendering real world objects and tasks to virtual spaces and ease of use. And who knows where it will keep going? This is just one example, and aside from it being a wonderful bargain, all I have to say is a short message to people who have painstakingly hunted down each printed copy. Ouch.
