I remember years ago my grandma told me that all I had to do was sleep with my head on a school book and I would “absorb” all the information overnight! Well, researchers have now found that simply sleeping on a problem, actually helps us to work out the issues, all while snoozing! The scientists believe that “incubating” a problem often leads to a solution but that the effect was increased when people entered a phase of sleep known as Rapid Eye Movement (REM). This evidence fits nicely into the wave Body Warranty which is all about pushing our bodies to do more…ok body, now solve this one! Sleep is definitely a requirement for the physiological state of being, so if we live in a complicated, stressful, busy world, it is essential to have quality, deep sleep in order to cope and deal with all that life throws at us. Personally I love this finding as I love to sleep, but still want to stay sharp!
